Leonid Grudin studied flute with Prof. Jean-Michel Tanguy at the Staatliche Musikhochschule Mannheim from 1990 to 1995 and graduated with a diploma in orchestral music. In 1998 he obtained the diploma “Artistic Education” and in 2001 the diploma “Concert Examination” with Prof. Maxence Larrieu.
Since 2002 Leonid Grudin has been a principal piccolo flutist with the German State Opera under the direction of Daniel Barenboim.
During the time he has participated in various orchestras: Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Camerata Bern, Semperoper Dresden, MDR Symphony Orchestra, SWR Symphony Orchestra.
Since 2017 he has been teaching piccolo at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music.
Since 2016 Leonid Grudin has been a lecturer for the subject flute at the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein in Berlin and since 2021 he has been a lecturer at the Beethoven Conservatorium in Tegelen.
