The Beethoven Conservatory is located in a listed building in Tegelen (Venlo), the „Elka House“. The unusual name is derived from the initials of its builders, Leonard and Katharina Syrier. A number of important personalities from the region have lived here since the completion of the impressive villa in 1910. In 2020 the newly founded Beethoven Conservatorium took over Haus Elka in order to be able to offer students a stimulating learning environment.
The building has a small concert hall on the ground floor, several class and study rooms, a small library and a kitchen as well as a garden that can be used by the students. The house is equipped with high-speed WiFi in all rooms.
In addition, the Beethoven Conservatorium uses various online platforms to implement the study programmes – for example, supplementary online instrumental or vocal teaching via Zoom as well as lectures, webinars and entrance exams via Microsoft Teams. The e-learning platform Moodle offers a tried and tested interactive learning environment for the theory subjects. From the winter semester 2023/24, CAS Campus Management will be established as an online campus for students and lecturers, which will bundle all relevant organisational information on the degree programme and make it available at all times.
