BEETHOVEN CONSERVATORIUM

The Beethoven Conservatorium in Venlo is a private music college. We offer education at both Bachelor and Master level. We support our students as they develop their creative talents, pursuing their artistic ambitions at the highest level, while allotting ample autonomy for personal development. In this way, we prepare talented young musicians to work as soloists, orchestral musicians, chamber musicians or composers in a demanding, ever-changing professional environment. And, we prepare them for the task of establishing a purposeful position for themselves in society.

The Bachelor of Music level is a four-year full-time course divided into 8 semesters. After completing this study you receive the certificate Bachelor of Music. This certificate gives you the possibility to continue with the Master of Music, provided you are eligible for it. The language of instruction is German, Dutch and/or English. The so-called practical entrance examination is obligatory for all candidates.

As soon as the Bachelor of Music program is recognized by NVAO (test new program) this program will be based on the achievement of 30 ECTS per semester and 240 ECTS for the entire duration of the program.

The Master of Music is a full-time program. As soon as the Master of Music program is recognized by NVAO (test new program) this program will be based on the achievement of 120 ECTS per semester divided into two years, or 4 semesters. The language of instruction is German, Dutch and/or English. The so-called practical entrance examination is mandatory for all candidates. The exams held between semesters are important, here a recommendation to discontinue or repeat a semester of study may be given.

The Mission of Beethoven Conservatorium

We welcome you to learn more about us

Art, and music in particular, is an invaluable source of beauty and meaning in a world faced with constant change and development. The constantly evolving landscape to which the arts are inseparable, requires us to be broadly informed and understanding of the breadth of developments in society. While grounded in tradition, our students train for success regardless of the uncertainty and evolving situation they will face.

The Beethoven Conservatorium works closely with the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein Düsseldorf (Germany). This cooperation can lead to projects such as a chamber orchestra, a choir or other activities.

The Beethoven Conservatorium also seeks communication with the city of Venlo in order to organize concerts in the region and to collaborate with the rich, local music scene of Limburg.
