Biography

Born in Russia, he graduated from the Kazan State Conservatory in 1990. Already in his second year of studies he was accepted into the Tatarstan State Opera House and sang the leading tenor roles:
Príncipe Igor (Borodin), Demon ( Rubinstein ), Jolanta (Tchaikovsky).

In 1989 he became a diplomate of the International Fyodor Shalyapin Competition. In 1991 he was admitted to the National Budapest Opera House for leading roles of the tenor repertoire.
From 1996 to 2003 he was employed by the “Deutsche Oper am Rhein”. He sang in the best opera houses of Europe : in Hungary, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Sweden, Spain, Brazil, France, Italy, and Germany. He performed the solo part of Otello for the first time in “Theatre du Capitole du Toulouse” with conductor Alain Lombard. In 2001 he was invited by Riccardo Muti to participate in the performance of Otello in La Scala. In 2002 he was invited by Roberto Rizzi Brignoli to perform Otello again.
His stage partners were world famous opera singers such as : Violeta Urmana, Fiorenza Cossotto, Eva Marton, Barbara Frittoli, Olga Gurjakova, Sergej Leiferkus, Renato Bruson, Leo Nucci.
He worked with the best conductors such as: Lamberto Gardelli, Antonello Allemandi, Alain Lombard, Rizzi Brignoli, Riccardo Muti, Ivan Fischer, Rico Saccani.
Andrei Lantsov has sung the leading roles of the tenor repertoire : Alvaro ( La forza del destino ), Manrico ( Il Trovatore ), Calaf ( Turandot ), Cavaradossi ( Tosca ), Maurizio ( Adriana Lecouvreur of Cilea ), Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana ), Enzo ( La Gioconda of Ponchielli ), Don Jose ( Carmen ), Grigory ( Boris Godunov ), Hermann ( La Dame de pique ); Otello (Otello), Radames (Aida), Alfredo (La Traviata), Laca (Jenufa), Pinkerton (Madam Butterfly), Canio (I Pagliacci).

Andrej Lantsov has been a lecturer at the renowned Anton Rubinstein International Music Academy in Düsseldorf, and since 2021 he has been a lecturer at the Beethoven Conservatorium in Tegelen.
