Xue Li was born in China in 1981. He has been taking piano lessons since the age of 7.
Since 1995 he has been studying trombone with Prof. Bai at the Shen Yang Conservatory of Music in
(China). In 2003 he continued his education at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with
Prof. Ulrich Flad, where he passed his diploma and concert exam.
Already during his studies Xue Li played solo trombone in the Junge
Kammerphilharmonie NRW, Junge Philharmonie Köln . 2/3 trombonist in the orchestra of the
Theater of the Philharmonic Orchestra Hagen, later as 1st/2nd trombone in the Theater Krefeld and
Mönchengladbach. He was a scholarship holder trombone quartet at “Live Music Now” foundation in 2010.
As a guest player he plays as solo trombone with the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, Düsseldorfer
Symphony Orchestra, New Philharmonic Orchestra of Westphalia , Essen Philharmonic Orchestra .
Since 2016 he is lecturer for trombone at the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein in
Düsseldorf. Since April 2021 he teaches the subject trombone at the Beethoven Conservatory in Tegelen.
