Biography

Irina Leveleva earned her diploma as a concert pianist, chamber musician and piano teacher at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg. Subsequently, she was active as a concert pianist in St. Petersburg as well as in other renowned cities of Russia and the Soviet Union.

Since 1992 Irina Leveleva has been living with her family in Germany, where she continued her career as a successful concert pianist.

As a pianist of the piano duo Gémeaux as well as the St. Petersburg Duo and other chamber music ensembles she performs in concerts and festivals.

She also successfully continued her path as a piano teacher. Her students have won numerous prizes at national and international competitions and have performed on renowned stages such as Carnegie Hall, the Cologne Philharmonic and the Hamburg Laeiszhalle.

Irina Leveleva regularly receives formative musical as well as pedagogical impulses, among other things, as a participant in the master classes of leading pianists – Dmitry Baschkirov, Robert Levin, András Schiff. In her pedagogy she combines a dedication to musical perfection with a rich experience of developing young pianists. Since April 2021 Irina Leveleva teaches at the Beethoven Conservatory in Tegelen.
