Biography

Dr. Lars Wallerang, born in Düsseldorf, studied musicology, sociology and German philology at the University of Cologne from 1991 to 2000. From 2000 to 2003, he earned his doctorate. Parallel to his studies, Lars Wallerang worked as a freelancer in daily newspaper editorial offices and agencies. From 2004 to 2006, he worked as a trainee in the editorial offices of the Westdeutsche Zeitung in Düsseldorf, Krefeld, Rhein-Kreis Neuss and the central editorial office. Since 2006, Lars Wallerang has worked as a freelance journalist and contributor for major regional and national daily publications.

Since 2008, he has held a teaching position for music history as part of the “Schumann Junior” program at the Robert Schumann University (RSH) Düsseldorf.

Since winter semester 2016/17, he has been a  teacher in musicology at the Anton Rubinstein International Academy of Music. Since 2021 he has been  a teacher in musicology at the Beethoven Conservatorium in Tegelen.
